  • Beschrijving: 1. INTRODUCTION: VILLAR’S MORNING AWAKENING We see Villar waking up in a cow’s trough. The title reads: "Villar, newly arrived from Paris, wakes up early in the morning and steps out of his comfortable bed. He works at a dry cleaner’s in Athens and is ready to go to work".     2. VILLAR MEETS THE GIRL On a central street, he meets a girl and follows her. "On the way to the dry cleaner’s he has an unexpected meeting. The dilemma, work or adventure, does not seem to bother him for long”. (MAIN STREET WITH STORES IN ATHENS – HIGHWAY IN ATHENS)
    3. VILLAR GOES ON A WALK TO THE ACROPOLIS WITH THE GIRL He persuades the girl to go for a walk to the Acropolis. At the Temple of the Olympian Zeus they hop on a taxi and head to a bar in Faliron. (TEMPLE OF THE OLYMPIAN ZEUS – AKROPOLIS)
    4. VILLAR DINES AND DANCES WITH THE GIRL AT THE BAR IN FALIRON An American orchestra in Faliron. Numerous couples dance passionately, though it isn’t even ten in the morning. The girl realizes that the parcel she bought on that morning is lost. Villar remembers that she left it on the taxi. An exquisite scene follows, where Vilar takes the tram from Faliron, continues on to Syngrou avenue, finds the parcel and returns to he dock. It is eleven o’clock. What is going on in the store?     5. VILLAR IS FIRED FROM THE DRY CLEANER’S AND ZAZA QUITS HER JOB IN SYMPATHY FOR HIM Villar runs to the dry cleaner’s. Unique shots on Amalias avenue. When Villar arrives at the dry cleaner’s, the title reads: "Be brave, Villar, here you ought to have an attitude". Vilar pretends that he has a headache and begins to work. However, Zaza, Villar’s fiancé, also works there. As he holds the iron in his hand, he flirts with her and burns the gloves he was to iron. Typical scenes of the silent movies follow. One throws the gloves to the other! As a means of punishment they seat Villar on a incandescent heater and throw him out of the store. Zaza, acting out of sympathy, resigns and gets on the street looking for him. (DRY CLEANER’S – BAR IN FALIRON – ROUTE FROM FALIRON TO ATHENS – SYNGROU AVENUE – AMALIAS AVENUE)
    6. VILLAR’S ESCAPE Villar runs on the streets and we watch an excellent traveling on Panepistimioou street, before the three exquisite buildings by the Hansen brothers: Library, University, Academy. He doesn’t have time to appease his burn on ice and keeps running. (PANEPISTIMIOU AVENUE)
    7. CARNIVAL WEDDING BANQUET ON THE ACROPOLIS The exquisite scene with the carnival wedding below the AKropolis is followed by the finale. (AKROPOLIS)
    8. VILLAR AND ZAZA GET TOGETHER AGAIN The gardener at the Zappeion alleviates the burn on Villar’s bottom with a hose and his meeting with Zaza marks the film’s happy end. (ZAPPEIO)
